Drug traffickers arrested in Surkhandarya while selling 9.3 kg of narcotic substances
Allegedly, opium and hashish substances were smuggled by drug couriers from Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
An operative event was held by the Surkhandarya Regional SSS Department in cooperation with the Regional Customs Department and the DIA.
In particular, a Matiz car was stopped in Termiz district and inspected. It was found out that 4 kg 827 g of opium was being carried by a passenger (born in Samarkand), a temporary resident of Termiz. The narcotic substance was registered as material evidence.
During the investigation, it was found that this drug was smuggled by drug couriers from Afghanistan.
In addition, brothers living in Sariosiyo district were caught while selling 3 kg 627 g of opium and 919 g of hashish for $30,000.
Reportedly, these narcotic drugs were smuggled to the Sariosiyo district by drug couriers from Tajikistan.
On the above-mentioned facts, criminal cases were initiated against the citizens under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, and preventive measures in the form of imprisonment were applied.
An investigation is currently underway.
