Russia may build several schools in Uzbekistan
It is said that lessons in these schools will be conducted in Russian, and students will be educated based on Russian educational programs. The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan accepted the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation in this regard. At the meeting with the participation of the heads of government, a number of agreements, in particular, a memorandum on cooperation in nuclear medicine was signed.
On September 18, the 4th meeting of the Joint Communiqué at the level of heads of government of Uzbekistan and Russia was held in Moscow.
During the meeting, the PM of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, stated that the Russian side is ready to build several schools in Uzbekistan that will be taught in Russian and based on Russian programs.
“By doing so, students can get to know Russian culture and traditions better. If you show interest, we will consider the request in this regard,” the head of the Russian government said.
PM of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov said that the offer will be accepted.
“We are very pleased to accept the offer to build schools where education will be conducted in Russian. I would like to say that there are 10,000 general education schools in Uzbekistan, and 10% of them teach in Russian,” Aripov said.
According to the head of the government of Uzbekistan, 14 branches of Russian higher education institutions are currently operating in Uzbekistan. Abdulla Aripov said that the cooperation in the field of education has become active in preschool and school education, and offered to increase the number of pedagogues of mathematics, physics and chemistry for Russian-speaking schools in Uzbekistan within the framework of the “Klass” project.
