Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives delegation led by BYD president  

On September 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the president and founder of the leading Chinese company BYD Wang Chuanfu, the presidential press service reports.

It should be noted that BYD Company is a global leader in the production of modern electric cars and new generation batteries. This concern, which produces 2 million cars a year, determines the main trends in the development of the world automobile industry.

At the meeting, the practical aspects of expanding the company’s activities in Uzbekistan were discussed, in particular, the issues of starting the production of hybrid and electric cars in the Jizzakh region as soon as possible and increasing its capacity to 300,000 units in the next stages.

In order to reduce the production cost, special attention was paid to the projects of localization of components and spare parts and to the organization of export of cars to the market of third countries.

Plans to open engineering service centers for the supply and servicing of BYD electric buses to the country were also supported.
