$10 billion to be attracted to Uzbekistan from Gulf countries until 2030
The GulfCA Corp., founded in the USA by Uzbeks, mediates in bringing investment and business projects worth $10 billion from the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, in particular, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, until 2030. Alisher Jumanov, the founder of GulfCA, who has established several successful investment banks in 22 countries of the world, announced this at the “O‘zbekistonlik” forum held in London.
“For several years, we have had the intention to start a business with our team to attract investments to our region, in particular to our motherland, Uzbekistan, and to introduce large international companies to these markets. During the past months, we communicated with financial professionals from Uzbekistan in different parts of the world and decided to finally start this project, to use the potential of specialists who have left Central Asia and Uzbekistan and are working around the world,” Jumanov said in his presentation at the “O‘zbekistonlik” forum.
According to Jumanov, it is a precedent in the history of our country that compatriots who live abroad, run their own business or have considerable experience in their field can freely express their opinions, suggestions and worldviews on platforms such as the “O‘zbekistonlik” forum: “This became possible only in recent years. As one of the first people from independent Uzbekistan who studied at Columbia University and spent most of his life abroad, we tried not to go to the events of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in our countries where we lived before. Today, it is necessary to admit that the situation has changed,” he said.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan’s club invited Alisher Jumanov as a speaker to the II international “O‘zbekistonlik” forum held in Paris and gave him the status of master resident. At the forum in Paris, the global investment banker said that 15 years ago, he formed a team of Uzbek specialists and established a successful investment business in countries such as Mongolia, Myanmar, Mozambique, Argentina, and proved to himself and others that “Uzbeks can do great business anywhere in the world”.
Uzbekistan’s club will continue to organize such forums, the next forum is planned to be held in the USA. Uzbekistan’s club partners are Ucell communication operator and Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. The project is supported by the Youth Affairs Agency.
The “wings” of the project are Uzbekistan Airways.
