Law enforcement officers detain man who tried to sell fake $8.9 thousand
Counterfeit dollars were found at the Erkin traffic police post in a Lacetti car, the owner of which planned to sell them in Tashkent.
During a mobile event at the Erkin traffic police post, law enforcement officers, while inspecting a Lacetti car, discovered 89 counterfeit $100 bills, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
It turned out that the Lacetti driver planned to sell them in the capital city.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Article 176 of the Criminal Code (Production of counterfeit money, excise stamps or securities and their sale). An investigation is underway.
