Uzbekistan was recognized as the best country in Central Asia in terms of tourist safety. Kazakhstan was the best in the region in terms of providing medical services to tourists. Specialists of the International SOS organization, which specializes in providing tourists with safety and medical services, concluded about this.
According to the interactive risk map, Uzbekistan is included among countries with a low level of risk. The country is reported to have a low level of violence, riots and terrorist attacks, effective security and emergency services, and good infrastructure.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are included in the group of medium risk countries.
In total, the map shows five levels of risk – from low to extremely high.
The safest countries in the world for tourists are Switzerland, Slovenia, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the island of Greenland. Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Somalia and South Sudan are classified as extremely dangerous.
International SOS experts also analyzed the countries of the world according to the level of development of medical care and the possibilities of its use. According to this indicator, the situation in the region is the best in Kazakhstan.
Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are considered “high risk” countries. These countries have basic types of medical care such as emergency, medical and dental. Specialized assistance is also limited in large cities. Quality prescription drugs may not be available. Foodborne or waterborne infections are common.
