Shavkat Mirziyoyev takes part in informal CIS summit
On December 26, Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the CIS heads of state, held in St. Petersburg.
The event was attended by the leaders of Russia Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
During the meeting, the main results of multilateral cooperation in 2023 were summed up and priority tasks for the coming year were considered.
The parties discussed the prospects for the development of multifaceted relations within the CIS and other regional issues.
It should be noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan further strengthened its cooperation with CIS member states; the country has joined more than 20 industry cooperation bodies and 24 important agreements in priority areas and industries.
The portfolio of industrial cooperation projects with companies from the CIS countries has exceeded $30 billion and covers almost all areas.
During the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the need to radically expand practical interaction and increase the efficiency of existing institutional mechanisms of cooperation within the CIS.
