From January 1, 2023, a “tax free” system was introduced to refund VAT amounts paid by foreign citizens when they purchased certain types of goods in Uzbekistan.
Until now, similar service points have operated at the international airports of Tashkent, Bukhara, Urgench, Samarkand, and Fergana.
Today, the opening ceremonies of Tax Free offices were held at 4 more international airports – Nukus, Karshi, Termez and Navoi. The number of international airports with Tax Free offices has increased to 9.
