Vision Invest to be involved in designing the New Tashkent airport
The Saudi company will take part in the preparation of cost estimates for the project.
Saudi Arabia plans to take part in a number of projects to develop the transport infrastructure of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Transport reports.
Deputy head of the department Jasurbek Choriyev paid a working visit to Riyadh. He held talks with his counterpart Mansour Alturki, as well as with the kingdom's Investment Minister Khalid Al-Fatih.
One of the main points in the trip program was the signing of an agreement with Vision Invest. Within its framework, it is planned to prepare estimate documentation for the New Tashkent Airport development project by July.
The parties discussed the opening of an academy to train engineers and maintenance specialists in the field of civil aviation. It will have to cover the expected increase in the need for qualified personnel in the sector.
In addition, issues of cooperation with Saudi companies in road construction were considered. In particular, they were interested in the projected bypass of a section of the M-39 highway located in Kazakhstan.
Choriyev and Alturki also got acquainted with the Riyadh metro system. The launch of the network after almost ten years of construction is scheduled for this year.
In November, it was reported that Vision Invest plans to open a regional office in Tashkent. The company is working in Uzbekistan on a number of investment projects in the fields of energy, water resources management, infrastructure and transport.
