Uzbekistan offers assistance to Kyrgyzstan following Bishkek power plant accident
Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, announced during a phone conversation with his Kyrgyz counterpart that Uzbekistan would provide assistance following an accident at the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant, as per the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the Uzbek side will supply liquefied gas cylinders from Andijan to Osh city as a form of aid.
Minister Saidov expressed Uzbekistan's readiness to assist Kyrgyzstan in light of the recent incident at the Bishkek heat and power plant. "In particular, Uzbekistan will deliver liquefied gas cylinders to the city of Osh as part of the assistance. In response, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev expressed sincere gratitude for the humanitarian aid prepared by their brotherly counterpart," the report said.
The information from the Kyrgyz Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted that Turkmenistan, following President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's directive, has also expressed readiness to deliver humanitarian aid in the form of liquefied gas to Kyrgyzstan.
On February 2, amid below-freezing temperatures, an explosion at the sole Thermal Power Plant in Bishkek led to a disruption in heat and power supply in parts of the country. The causes of the accident, which resulted in injuries to five individuals and subsequent hospitalization for three, are currently unknown.
This incident highlights a robust sense of regional solidarity as neighboring countries rally to provide support during crises. Uzbekistan, in particular, has demonstrated its commitment to assisting neighboring Kyrgyzstan in overcoming the aftermath of this unfortunate event.
