Strong winds leave over 130,000 people without electricity in Samarkand and Jizzakh
Strong winds have caused malfunctions in the electrical networks of Samarkand and Jizzakh regions, resulting in the temporary loss of power for over 130,000 consumers.

The Ministry of Energy reported that strong winds on February 7 (as of 7:30 am) have disrupted some electric devices, leading to power outages. In the Samarkand region, power supply interruptions affected around 114,250 consumers with a total power outage of 457 MW, while in the Jizzakh region, around 16,000 consumers experienced a power loss of 64 MW.

Specialized repair brigades are currently addressing the faults, with the ministry assuring that the issues will be dealt with promptly and electricity will be restored systematically and progressively.
This incident follows previous weather-related disruptions where over 10,000 consumers in the regions of Kashkadarya, Samarkand, and Jizzakh were cut off from the network due to unfavorable weather conditions.
