The second round of the World Chess Olympiad took place in Samarkand on September 17.

Uzbekistan’s main men’s team defeated Peru 3.5-0.5, with Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeating Peru’s top player Jorge Cori on board one, Javokhir Sindarov beating Diego Saul Quillas with the white pieces, Shamsiddin Vokhidov defeating Steven Rojas, and Mukhiddin Madaminov drawing with Fernando Fernandez.

The United States defeated Mongolia 2.5-1.5, while India beat Indonesia by the same score and China defeated Chile 3-1.

Uzbekistan-2 defeated Algeria 4-0, with Jahongir Vokhidov, Muhammadzahid Suyarov, Ortik Nigmatov and Humoyun Begmuratov scoring the team’s points, while Uzbekistan-3 lost to Germany 0.5-3.5.

Uzbekistan’s women’s team defeated Ecuador 4-0, with Nilufarkhon Imomkuzieva, Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova, Guldona Karimova and Umida Omonova securing the team’s points.

Uzbekistan’s women’s team-2 defeated Jordan 3.5-0.5, while the women’s team-3 lost to Spain 1.5-2.5.

The third round will be held on September 18. The 46th World Chess Olympiad runs in Samarkand until September 27.
