More than 21 thousand twin births registered in 2023
Last year, the highest number of twin births were recorded in the Fergana region.

According to data from the Statistics Agency, in 2023, there were 962,000 live births recorded in the republic. Of these, 21,012 were twins.
The highest number of twin births was registered in the Fergana region (2,494).
Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions followed with 2,313 and 2,171 twin births, respectively.
The statistics for the remaining regions are as follows:
- Andijan region – 1,947;
- Namangan region – 1,784;
- Tashkent city – 1,839;
- Surkhandarya region – 1,679;
- Tashkent region – 1,570;
- Bukhara region – 1,059;
- Khorezm region – 1,129;
- Republic of Karakalpakstan – 996;
- Jizzakh region – 937;
- Navoi region – 583;
- Syrdarya region – 511.
