Taxation Agreement between Uzbekistan and Qatar comes into force
The agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Qatar on the elimination of double taxation on income tax and the prevention of tax evasion and tax avoidance has come into force starting February 12, 2024.
The agreement, signed in Samarkand on June 6, 2023, aims to lay down a legal foundation for bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar in the field of taxation, with specific goals:
- Elimination of double taxation;
- Prevention of tax evasion;
- Allocation of tax rights between the parties;
- Prevention of discriminatory taxation practices.
The enactment of this international agreement will undoubtedly strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand the investment potential of both parties.
It should be reminded that recently Uzbekistan appointed its first ambassador to Qatar. The diplomatic mission of the republic is led by Ashraf Khodjayev.
