The Children's Ombudsman believes that appropriate action must be taken against officials who forcibly cut students' hair during class sessions, a practice observed in a Navoi school, as it violates guaranteed personal inviolability rights.
An investigation has commenced by the Children's Ombudsman following an incident at School No. 2 in the city of Navoi, where students' hair was forcibly cut after a barber was summoned to the educational institution by the school director.
"Such actions by the school administration are utterly unacceptable. Primarily, they contravene the ethical codes of general secondary educational institutions. Crucially, they threaten the child's right to personal inviolability guaranteed by the constitution, as well as their right to have their dignity and worth respected. Relevant measures must be taken against the responsible parties," states the report from the Children's Ombudsman.
Furthermore, steps are currently being taken to ensure that similar unacceptable incidents do not occur in other educational institutions.
Previously, it was reported that an event involving the mass haircutting of male students took place at School No. 2 in Navoi, initiated by the school director, Nurkobil Yusupov. Ra'no Hayitova, the head of the Navoiy Region Department of Pre-School and School Education, has declared this incident completely indefensible.
