“Auto showroom” owners who deceived citizens for 6.1 billion soums detained in Tashkent
The accomplices in the crime, promising that they would “deliver the cars from the dealership within 3 months”, fraudulently obtained funds from 74 citizens.
The “car dealership owners” who deceived citizens for 6,155,000,000 soums were taken into custody, UzA reports.
As it turned out, three individuals, having entered into a criminal conspiracy, opened a car dealership called “My Cars” on Alisher Navoi Street in Tashkent.
In the period from January 16, 2022 to August 2, 2023, the criminal group, promising to deliver cars from the car dealership within 3 months, fraudulently received funds from 74 citizens in the amount of 40 million soums to 200 million soums, in total – 6.1 billion soums.
The Shaykhantakhur district criminal court sentenced the defendants to prison terms of 8 to 9 years in accordance with Article 168 of the Criminal Code.
