Uzbekistan to ramp up security measures against terrorism
Law enforcement and security forces are instructed to take steps to prevent terrorism and emergencies in public places, with strict observance of the rights of entrepreneurs and citizens.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies and security structures dedicated to public safety issues.
Reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard leadership on the organization of public order at major trade and service facilities, including shopping and entertainment complexes, parks, markets, and others, were heard.
It was noted that in the current conditions of emerging new threats and risks to public safety, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement and business entities in maintaining public order and citizen safety.
In addition, the importance of strictly observing the legal rights and interests of entrepreneurs and citizens while carrying out activities related to ensuring public security was emphasized.
The head of state instructed to prepare a draft normative legal act that provides for full interaction between law enforcement agencies, civil society institutions, and business entities in this direction.
The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard has been tasked with further intensifying efforts to safeguard public order and take effective measures to prevent potential terrorist acts and other emergencies in areas where people gather en masse.
