Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov announced this today during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh (Supreme Council), as reported by the international news agency Kazinform.

The chairman informed that, by order of the President of Kyrgyzstan, the Emergency Situations Ministry is organizing a shipment of food products made in Kyrgyzstan, which will soon be sent to Kazakhstan, the agency notes.

"After the power plant accident in Bishkek, Kazakhstan extended help to Kyrgyzstan, although we did not ask for it. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express gratitude to Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan for the help they provided," Kazinform quotes Akylbek Japarov as saying. "As a result of the policy conducted by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic with neighboring countries, they provided assistance before we even requested it. And we are also sending humanitarian help to our fraternal nation, although they did not ask us either. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan will visit Kyrgyzstan on April 8. At the meeting, we will discuss what further assistance is needed."

It should be recalled that on the night of February 2, 2024, there was an accident at the Bishkek Power Plant, leading to disruptions in the power system of Kyrgyzstan.
