Uzbekistan Airways has announced the launch of regular flights on the route Tashkent — Makhachkala — Tashkent.
Flights to the capital of Dagestan will be conducted every Thursday, beginning May 9. The schedule (local time for each airport) is as follows:
Departure from Tashkent — 19:40, arrival in Makhachkala — 20:50;
Departure from Makhachkala — 22:00, arrival in Tashkent — 2:45.
The cost of a one-way ticket at the time of publication starts from 1,200,000 UZS, and a return ticket from 3,444,000 UZS.
The national carrier had planned to launch flights to Makhachkala already in the spring of 2022. As Uzbekistan’s General Consul in Rostov-on-Don, Rustam Kurganbaev had mentioned, this would aid in developing the pilgrimage tourism sector.
In March of the same year, Russian airline Red Wings reported that it would begin operating flights between Tashkent and Makhachkala. Flights were conducted on SSJ 100 aircraft twice a week.
