The committee said it had assessed domestic airfares, pricing practices and passengers’ access to air travel on the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The review focused on measures to reduce airlines’ operating costs and bring down ticket prices.

The committee developed proposals to lower fares by optimizing expenses associated with domestic flights. After the proposals were approved by the relevant authorities, it worked with Uzbekistan Airways to revise fares on domestic routes.

The reductions are intended to make domestic air travel more affordable, encourage tourism within the country and improve connections between regions. Lower fares are also expected to make air travel more accessible for business trips and personal journeys.

The committee said it would continue monitoring markets that directly affect consumers and take measures to address problems identified in its reviews.
