15 petrol stations selling low-quality gasoline identified in Samarkand and Fergana
In accordance with the appropriate procedure, recalculation was made in favor of more than 2,000 consumers.
In January-April 2024, the Committee for Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights, together with the Uzenergoinspektsiya under the Ministry of Energy, conducted a study of the quality of gasoline sold to consumers at about 50 gas stations.
Based on the conclusion of the laboratory analysis, it was established that low-quality gasoline of the AI-92 and AI-95 brands was sold at 15 gas stations in the Samarkand and Fergana regions. As a result, consumers suffered damages amounting to more than 201 million soums.
It is noted that in cases of violation of the requirements of the relevant article of the Law “On the Protection of Consumer Rights”, 15 business entities are subject to liability measures in the prescribed manner.
As a result, it is noted that the rights of 2,139 consumers were restored, and funds were recalculated in their favor.
