Uzbekistan and Russia to sign cooperation agreement on pension provision
Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to accelerate the coordination and signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of pensions. This was stated in a joint statement by Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin following negotiations during the Russian leader’s state visit to Uzbekistan.
“The parties, recognizing the importance of social protection of the population and regulation of labor relations, expressed their readiness to ensure the earliest mutually acceptable agreement and signing of an agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of pensions,” the text of the statement states.
The parties emphasized their commitment to ensuring the protection of rights and legitimate interests, respect for the honor and dignity of citizens of the Russian Federation staying in Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbekistan staying in Russia, the document reads.
In addition, the statement noted the need to establish effective mechanisms to ensure decent working conditions for foreign workers and fair pay.
