A meeting was held with the members of the delegation led by Qatar’s Minister of State for Labor Ali bin Samikh al-Marri at the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment.

At the meeting, the main attention was paid to the issues of attracting labor force from Uzbekistan to Qatar, their training and sending them in an organized manner.

On June 6, 2023, the government of the two countries signed an agreement “On the regulation of labor force employment in the territory of the State of Qatar” in the city of Samarkand. Mechanisms of implementation of this agreement were discussed at the meeting.

The Minister of Labor of Qatar stated that there is a high demand for foreign labor in this country at the same time in medicine, education, IT, industrial processing of products, hotel service and mass media.

It was mentioned that the biggest problem that bothers those who want to work in this country is the language barrier. The Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment, Bekhzod Musayev, made his proposals for targeted training of the workforce based on the existing experience here to solve this problem.

Ali bin Samikh al-Marri stated that the rights of workers from abroad will be firmly protected by the state, and the same goals and indicators were reflected in the Qatar Vision-2030 program approved in 2008. He also mentioned that the employer fully reimburses the social security, health insurance, monthly, transportation and accommodation costs of foreign workers, and a committee was established to protect the rights of women working abroad.

As noted in the meeting, a joint commission will be formed between the ministries of the two countries, its next meeting will be held in Qatar, and an agreement on further development of cooperation is planned to be signed there.
