UzAuto Motors dominates nearly 90% of Uzbekistan’s car market in Jan-May 2024
In the period from January to May 2024, 89 percent of cars manufactured in Uzbekistan were produced by UzAuto Motors, 7.2 percent by ADM Jizzakh, and 3.5 percent by BYD.
A total of 162,608 automobiles were produced in Uzbekistan during the first five months of the current year, according to a report by JSC Uzavtosanoat.
The production share by brand during the reporting period:
- UzAuto Motors – 144,822 units (89 percent of total cars produced);
- ADM Jizzakh – 11,663 units (7.2 percent);
- BYD Uzbekistan Factory – 5,654 units (3.5 percent);
- Jizzakh Auto – 200 units (0.1 percent);
- SamAuto – 137 units (0.1 percent);
- AsakaMotors – 132 units (0.1 percent).
For context, in 2023, 456,347 units of passenger vehicles were produced in Uzbekistan. Of these, UzAuto Motors manufactured 369,999 ($4.85B), and ADM Jizzakh – 25,000 ($823M).
