Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrives in Fergana
Today, July 11, Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Fergana region and visited the airport in the city of Kokand, which was opened in March of this year.
The president familiarized himself with the constructive work done at the airport. A new terminal for 100 passengers was built, the runway was repaired, and modern aeronautical equipment was installed. As a result, the airport has gained the capability to accommodate A320-200 and ATR 72-600 aircraft.

The president gave instructions to increase the number of flights, improve the convenience of use, and make services more affordable. He also noted the wide prospects for utilizing internal tourism opportunities and organizing international flights.

It should be reminded that Kokand Airport, built in 1977, was intended for short flights. Subsequently, the airport was used only by the air force. As a result of modernization, civilian aviation flights are now being launched here.
