Korzinka faces legal action over alleged false advertising of lowest prices
The prices of certain products advertised as having the "lowest price" by the Korzinka supermarket chain do not differ from the prices of the same products sold in other supermarkets and farmers' markets. "Such advertising could mislead customers," according to the Competition Committee.
The ad disseminated by the Korzinka supermarket chain (Anglesey Food LLC) included potentially misleading or deceptive phrases like "The lowest price for daily shopping," "The lowest price is at Korzinka," and "Come for the best value!".
"Specifically, it was observed that the prices of certain products advertised as having the 'lowest price' do not differ from the prices of the same products sold in other supermarkets and farmers' markets. This type of advertising can be considered misleading or likely to mislead consumers," the committee's report said.
Based on the above, proceedings have been initiated against Anglesey Food LLC under the established procedure due to signs of violations of Article 16, Part 1 of the Law "On Advertising" and Article 6, Part 1 of the Law "On the Protection of Consumer Rights."
