Blogger Sherali Komilov detained in Tashkent region on fraud and slander charges
A criminal case has been initiated against the blogger on charges of fraud, slander, and insult.

On July 15 of this year, at around 17:00, blogger Sherali Komilov was arrested in the Dormon settlement of the Kibray district, Tashkent region, according to Abdurahmon Tashanov, chairman of the human rights society "Ezgulik."
"He was arrested as part of the charges and search announced a year ago by the Investigation Department of the Kashkadarya region's IAD. It is reported that the blogger was first taken to the Kibray district IAD and then to the No. 1 investigation detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," the report states.
With the sanction of the investigator from the Kashkadarya region IAD, a search was conducted at Sherali Komilov's residence. During the search, items and equipment belonging to Komilov were seized by the investigation authorities.
According to witnesses, around 15 law enforcement officers were involved in the arrest process of the blogger.
The blogger may be transferred to the Kashkadarya region, where a criminal case has been initiated against him by the region's IAB on charges of fraud, slander, and insult. He had been evading investigation for the past year.
For reference, Sherali Komilov was born in 1979 in the Kaynar village, Kitob district, Kashkadarya region. Initially, he worked in law enforcement agencies, and later he engaged in private entrepreneurship and blogging.
