Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates Iran's President-elect, highlights growing bilateral ties
On July 17, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the presidential election and wished him great success in his responsible state position.
The parties discussed issues related to the further development of Uzbek-Iranian relations and the expansion of practical cooperation in trade, investment, and transportation.
It was noted with satisfaction that in recent years, the volume of trade turnover and cargo transportation, the number of joint projects and enterprises, and the frequency of flights have been increasing.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level. The importance of promoting cooperation projects in energy, the chemical industry, agriculture, the food industry, and other sectors was highlighted.
The sides also considered current issues on the regional agenda.
