Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to elevate bilateral relations to strategic alliance level
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a unified stance with the head of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, on expanding cooperation and elevating relations to the level of alliance.
"Today, we signed a joint statement on further deepening and expanding relations of comprehensive strategic partnership. This is a serious foundation for, as I already mentioned, reaching the level of alliance," emphasized the President of Uzbekistan.
During a briefing for journalists, it was noted that the parties decided to create an interstate council headed by the leaders of the countries. It was decided to support and deepen dialogue within the framework of the UN, SCO, CIS, CSTO, and other organizations.
The sides emphasized the importance of forming a new economic agenda and adopted a program to increase the volume of mutual trade.
