Customs authorities prevent attempt to smuggle gold out of Uzbekistan
In Bekabad, Tashkent region, a man attempted to illegally export gold and silver jewelry with a total weight of 804 grams and a value of 187 million UZS through the "Farhad" customs checkpoint.

The man planned to cross the border with hand luggage in which, during a customs inspection, the undeclared jewelry was found. These items were neither declared during a verbal inquiry nor listed on the passenger customs declaration.
Currently, customs authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
In the first seven months of this year, the Tashkent Regional Department of the State Customs Committee prevented the illegal circulation of 56.3 kilograms of jewelry in 22 cases of violations.
