Uzbekistan increases service terms in special ranks by one year
In Uzbekistan, the terms of service in certain special ranks for employees of the internal affairs bodies, the state customs service, military personnel and the National Guard have been increased by one year, the Ministry of Justice reported.

By Resolution No. 296 of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated August 21, amendments were made to the Regulation on the procedure for serving in the internal affairs bodies, which establish the following terms of service in special ranks: senior lieutenant – 3 years, captain – 4 years, major – 5 years, lieutenant colonel – 6 years.
The terms of service in the state customs service have also been increased. Now for a senior lieutenant of the customs service, the term is 3 years, for a captain – 4 years, for a major – 5 years, and for a lieutenant colonel of the customs service – 6 years.
The changes also affected the Regulation on the procedure for military service by citizens, which established the following terms of service for military personnel in military ranks: senior lieutenant – 3 years, captain – 4 years, major – 5 years and lieutenant colonel – 6 years.
In addition, changes were also made to the Regulation on the service of National Guard employees, establishing the terms of service for special ranks: senior lieutenant – 3 years, captain – 4 years, major – 5 years and lieutenant colonel – 6 years.
