Uzbekistan selling BYD Seagull for $4,300 more than its price in China
BYD Seagull Flying, offered by private entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan from $14,300, is sold at an official dealer for $16,400. Unlike private entrepreneurs, BYD Uzbekistan has the privilege of importing cars without paying customs duty and disposal fee for at least 2 years. The price of this model in China starts at $12,100.
Uzavtosanoat informed that in July of this year BYD Uzbekistan Factory reached an agreement with its Chinese partners on the production of new models, these models will be BYD Seagull and E2.
On September 6, the price of BYD Seagull’s Flying collection, sold through dealer networks, with a range of 405 km on one charge, was announced: 208,300,000 UZS ($16,400). That’s $4,300 more than the price in China (85,800 yuan or $12,100).
The Flying collection of this model is offered in private car showrooms from $14,300 to $15,000. In the market of neighboring Kazakhstan, this car can be purchased for around $14,500.
The price offered by private car dealerships includes import of the car from China, VAT, processing fee, certification and customs fees, as well as the profit that the entrepreneurs see. Even then, the price of the car is 2 thousand dollars cheaper than the price offered by the official dealer.
It should be recalled that BYD Uzbekistan can import electric cars of this type up to 50% of the production capacity, but not more than 10 thousand per year, to Uzbekistan without paying customs duty and disposal fee for at least 2 years.
Earlier, BYD Uzbekistan Factory Director General Shafkatbek Alimov said that BYDs produced in Uzbekistan will be cheaper than those imported from abroad.
After that, it was announced that the official price of the BYD E2 model will start at $19,300 or 242 million UZS. It is 42 million UZS more expensive than the price in private car showrooms.
