Malaysian company Meraque Group plans to launch drone production facility in Uzbekistan

The Malaysian company Meraque Group aims to create a production facility for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Uzbekistan, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Shakhobjon Sharifov, head of the administrative and economic service of the ministry, and Meraque's CEO Razali Ismail signed a memorandum earlier this week. The document addresses cooperation in the implementation of innovative agricultural technologies.

Over the next three years, Meraque plans to invest 20 million ringgit ($4.68 million) in an agricultural services enterprise. The primary focus will be on creating a UAV ecosystem.

The company will provide training for operators and assist Uzbekistan in developing government policy on drones in the agricultural sector. The implementation of the project is expected to create around 1,000 jobs and service up to 100,000 hectares of agricultural land.

Additionally, Meraque plans to attract 30 million ringgit ($7 million) for further development of agricultural technologies in the region. Razali Ismail emphasized the company's readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture in "creating mutually beneficial advanced solutions."
