Uzbekistan and Hungary to cooperate on cancer treatment
Uzbekistan’s Ambassador, Oybek Shakhavdinov, held discussions with Dr. Csaba Polgár, Executive Director of Hungary’s National Institute of Oncology, to explore avenues for collaboration in cancer treatment between the two countries.
The National Institute of Oncology in Hungary, which is the country’s largest institution dedicated to cancer treatment, has been a leading center for cancer research, treatment, epidemiology, and education for over half a century. The institute's research team has also developed Hungary's national cancer program.
Dr. Polgár expressed Hungary's readiness to establish long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health, the Republican Oncology Center, and other specialized medical institutions. This strategic partnership aims to enhance health sector cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.
Key areas of potential collaboration include organizing short-term training programs in Hungary for Uzbek oncologists, as well as hosting joint scientific-practical seminars and conferences focused on oncology.
