Uzbekistan Airways to launch direct flights to Pakistan’s Lahore
Uzbekistan Airways will commence direct flights between Tashkent and Lahore, Pakistan, starting November 15, 2024. This new route aims to enhance connectivity between the two nations and facilitate travel for both business and tourism.
Reportedly, negotiations for additional flight routes between cities in Uzbekistan and Pakistan are currently underway.
The new direct flights are a result of efforts by the government of Uzbekistan to simplify the visa application process for Pakistani nationals. This initiative is seen as a significant development for the Pakistani community, according to Najeeb Vohra, Uzbekistan's honorary consul in Pakistan. He noted that the restoration of connections between the regions will add new value to bilateral relations.
Vohra emphasized that time is a precious resource for businesspeople, and the introduction of this direct air route will save valuable time during travel. He expressed confidence that the new flights would strengthen business ties between the two countries and pave the way for new joint projects.
The launch of direct flights is expected to enhance trade and tourism, providing more convenient travel options for both Uzbek and Pakistani travelers.
