Uzbekistan forges stronger ties with China in automotive industry

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou, in collaboration with the Guangzhou Automotive Industry Association, recently hosted the Belt and Road Initiative forum to enhance cooperation in the automotive sector and explore new opportunities for the automotive industry in Central Asia.

During the event, Wang Xiaodan, General Secretary of the Guangzhou Automotive Industry Association, emphasized that Central Asia has emerged as a significant growth point for the production of new energy vehicles in China. “From product manufacturing to technology development, the localization of China's automotive industry in Central Asian countries is deepening, which will promote a transition to a 'green' and low-carbon industry,” he stated.

Wang further highlighted that the Central Asian market is developing rapidly and steadily, creating a strong demand for auxiliary spare parts such as automotive components and charging devices. He noted that the Association serves as a bridge for automotive companies not only from Guangzhou but also from southern provinces of China, assisting them in exploring the Central Asian market and developing the automotive industry there.

Uzbekistan’s representatives presented a report on "Investment and Business Opportunities in Uzbekistan," providing participants with insights into the economic potential and opportunities for investors in the country.

Experts and representatives from Chinese enterprises acknowledged that Uzbekistan’s export potential and investment attractiveness are consistently increasing.

During the forum, diplomats agreed with the Guangzhou Automotive Industry Association to establish cooperative relationships among industry companies and to organize business missions aimed at developing joint investment projects.
