New Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to Swiss President
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Akhatov, with residence in Berlin, presented his credentials to Swiss President Viola Amherd on October 25. During the meeting following the official ceremony, President Amherd remarked on the recent strengthening of bilateral relations between Switzerland and Uzbekistan, affirming that the Swiss government fully supports Uzbekistanās ongoing reform initiatives.

President Amherd highlighted that both Switzerland and Uzbekistan have significant potential to expand mutually beneficial economic ties. Areas for collaboration include mineral resource development, green economy and energy initiatives, water and energy-saving technologies, and climate change mitigation. Additionally, Switzerland expressed readiness to introduce its dual education model to enhance vocational training in Uzbekistan.
In her closing remarks, President Amherd wished Uzbekistanās leadership and people success and prosperity.
Ambassador Akhatov previously presented his credentials as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Germany in October 2023 to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Before his current post, Akhatov served as Uzbekistan's ambassador to India from 2020 to 2023. He also held a prior appointment as ambassador to Germany from 2010 to 2013, during which he served concurrently in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Spain.
