Azerbaijan imposes stricter stay rules for Russian citizens
Russian citizens will be permitted to stay in Azerbaijan for no more than 90 days within a calendar year. Previously, Russia had implemented a similar rule for foreign nationals.
Starting from January 1, 2025, the government of Azerbaijan will implement changes to the temporary stay conditions for Russian citizens in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Interfax reported.
According to the decision, citizens of the Russian Federation and individuals without permanent residency in Russia, who enter Azerbaijan without a visa, will not be allowed to stay for more than 90 days in a calendar year. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
In August of this year, Russia also introduced similar measures for foreign nationals.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new rules were adopted in response to a similar decision made by Russia.
