Uzbekistan’s transportation system to undergo transformation in 2025
The development plans for the transportation system include expanding the use of electric buses, reintroducing trams in Tashkent, and launching key initiatives in the railway sector.
As part of a state program, the development of a feasibility study for the construction of a tram line will begin. This decision is driven by numerous citizen requests and the initiative's support at the presidential level.
Transport routes will be modernized, the number of stops will be increased, and new dedicated lanes for public transport will be created. These measures aim to improve the quality of transportation services and reduce road congestion.
The railway sector is also set for transformations. Key efforts will focus on developing digital services for ticket purchases and updating the fleet of freight cars.
The program is designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of travel, adapt the transportation system to the modern needs of residents, and improve the environmental situation in urban areas.
