Uzbekistan collaborates with Intertek for product certification and standardization
The cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK’s Intertek Group plc facilitates the alignment of domestic products with international standards through a newly signed agreement on standardization.

The negotiations took place in two phases. In January, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the UK, Ravshan Usmanov, held talks with Intertek's Commercial Director, Irina Baerenwald, to discuss certification, packaging, and labeling issues.
Baerenwald praised the outcomes of her visit to Uzbekistan in 2024 and expressed her enthusiasm for new opportunities for cooperation.
On February 15, online discussions took place between Uzbekistan's Agency for Technical Regulation and Intertek's leadership. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to long-term cooperation aimed at implementing international standards.
As part of the agreement, the two sides will continue regular discussions to introduce international standards into Uzbekistan's exports. This is expected to not only enhance product competitiveness but also foster conditions to increase export volumes.
Founded in 1885 in London, Intertek operates in various sectors including oil and gas, energy, automotive, construction, food, and healthcare. With over 1,000 offices and laboratories in 100 countries, the company provides certification services on a global scale.
