Wizz Air proposes expanding flights and launching a joint airline in Uzbekistan
Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has expressed interest in establishing a joint airline in Uzbekistan. The discussions also covered expanding Wizz Air’s flight routes from Uzbekistan to Europe and developing transit flight options through the country.

Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov held negotiations with Wizz Air CEO József Váradi and the Hungarian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, József Rózsa.
The CEO of Wizz Air expressed the company's interest in increasing the number of flights on the Tashkent - Abu Dhabi - Tashkent route. Additionally, proposals were made to establish air connections with the cities of Namangan and Urgench and to explore the prospects of creating a joint airline in Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, Makhkamov proposed that Wizz Air establish direct flights between Uzbekistan and Hungary and launch a regular Tashkent - Budapest - Tashkent route by the end of 2025.
