Uzbekistan to restrict access to Temu from March 20
In accordance with Uzbek legislation, access to the Temu platform will be restricted starting March 20. The Tax Committee has advised users to stop placing orders from March 4 and has recommended arranging refunds for any pre-existing orders.

According to the Tax Committee’s press service, the decision to restrict access to Temu aligns with national regulations, which require e-commerce operators, particularly online marketplace platforms, to be registered as legal entities within Uzbekistan.
"The review of foreign e-commerce platforms serving Uzbek citizens has revealed that certain platforms fail to comply with Uzbekistan's laws on e-commerce, retail trade, advertising, personal data protection, consumer rights, and intellectual property," the statement said.
To prevent misunderstandings, the Tax Committee has urged consumers to refrain from making purchases on Temu starting today.
"If an order was placed before this date, it is recommended to arrange a refund through the platform," the statement added.
The Agency for Strategic Reforms and the Tax Committee have called on citizens to avoid using foreign e-commerce platforms that have not localized their operations in Uzbekistan or registered with the Tax Committee as providers of electronic services. They also urged users to take precautionary measures and refrain from sharing their personal and other sensitive data with such entities.
