As it was earlier reported, on March 25, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree aimed at improving the efficiency of customs operations. The decree outlines measures to accelerate digitalization in the system.
Additionally, the decree mandates the launch of a pilot system for two corridors for automobiles — "green" and "red" — starting September 1. This system will operate at three customs posts: "Gishtkuprik" and "Zangiota" in Tashkent region, and "Daut-ata" in Karakalpakstan.
The "green" corridor will allow for expedited control procedures for vehicles and goods with low levels of risk, following document verification. In the "red" corridor, vehicles with high-risk levels, as well as those selected for random inspection, will undergo thorough checks.
Vehicles will be directed to one of the two corridors based on risk analysis data. Customs officers can redirect a vehicle from the "green" to the "red" corridor based on profiling.
At the same time, a vehicle entering Uzbekistan will only be directed to one of the corridors after an inspection. Starting September 1, 2026, the system will be gradually expanded to other border crossings, based on the results of the pilot phase.
At the end of February, the president was presented with several initiatives aimed at improving customs operations. Among other proposals, it was suggested to implement "green" and "red" corridors for passenger cars and buses as an experiment at several of the largest posts.
