Shavkat Mirziyoyev honors Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with “Order of Highest Friendship”

A solemn ceremony was held to present the “Order of Highest Friendship” – Uzbekistan’s highest state honor – to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan, the presidential press service reported.
While presenting the award, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted Berdimuhamedov’s significant contribution to strengthening the traditional ties of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between the two countries.
It was emphasized that thanks to the personal efforts of the Turkmen leader, Uzbek-Turkmen relations have reached an exceptional level, becoming a model of interstate cooperation.
“Thanks to your personal support, strong foundations for the strategic partnership between our countries were laid in 2017,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
The awarding of Uzbekistan’s highest honor was also described as an expression of the Uzbek people’s sincere respect for Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as a distinguished statesman, national leader, and the architect of modern Turkmenistan.
