Uzbekistan sees 5-fold growth in university enrollment since 2015

This figure marks an increase of 1,168,500 students – more than 5.4 times – compared to the 2015/2016 academic year.

The number of students enrolled in higher education institutions by academic year is as follows:

• 2015/2016: 264,300 students
• 2016/2017: 268,300 students
• 2017/2018: 297,700 students
• 2018/2019: 360,200 students
• 2019/2020: 441,000 students
• 2020/2021: 571,500 students
• 2021/2022: 808,400 students
• 2022/2023: 1,042,100 students
• 2023/2024: 1,314,500 students
• 2024/2025: 1,432,800 students

It was previously reported that women account for 782,000 of the total student population in Uzbekistan.
