Uzbekistan to supply leather footwear to Afghanistan
Negotiations aimed at expanding the export potential of Uzbekistan’s leather and footwear industry were held in the Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
During their visit to Afghanistan, representatives of the Uzcharmsanoat Association and various industry enterprises held a series of meetings with major Afghan companies and entrepreneurs, according to the association’s press service.
The agenda focused on enhancing trade and economic cooperation, attracting direct foreign investment, and increasing export volumes.
As a result, a contract worth $9.5 million was signed between the Afghan company AFGAN CYBER and the Uzbek company KASHIF FERGHANI LTD. Under the agreement, various models of leather shoes will be supplied to the Afghan market.
During the visit, a meeting was also held with Ahmad Aimal, head of the Afghan company AYSAN, which supplies specialized footwear to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. He expressed strong interest in Uzbek products and indicated a willingness to begin cooperation in the near future.
