Ohangaron city administration official detained for abuse of power and fraud

According to the report, the official, abusing his position, gained the trust of a citizen born in 1958 and promised to transfer ownership of a three-room apartment — currently being processed to enter the administration's balance sheet — into the citizen’s name. He claimed he could arrange this through his connections in the judicial system.

He demanded a total of $18,500 for the service — $15,000 as the apartment’s price and an additional $3,500 for his alleged contacts in the court system. He was caught red-handed after receiving $9,500 of the agreed amount.

The operation was conducted by the State Security Service’s Tashkent Region Directorate and the Regional Department of the Economic Crimes Investigation Agency, with material evidence documented at the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated against the official, and he has been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
