Oman extradites fugitive accused of human trafficking to Uzbekistan
A citizen of Uzbekistan accused of human trafficking under Article 135 of Criminal Code has been extradited from Oman. The information was confirmed by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan.
According to the report, the individual had been declared internationally wanted based on submitted case materials. Through Interpol channels, it was determined that the suspect was located in Oman. He was arrested in that country in April of this year.
Just a month earlier, two female criminals were extradited from Oman to Uzbekistan, accompanied by officers from the Interpol National Central Bureau in Tashkent. During the visit, negotiations led to an agreement to fulfill the Uzbek Prosecutor General’s request for extradition of the accused individual.
The wanted person was handed over to representatives of Interpol’s National Central Bureau and national law enforcement agencies at the Islam Karimov International Airport.
Previously, on May 28, a citizen of Uzbekistan wanted for a 2021 murder in Saint Petersburg was extradited from El Salvador. Another individual accused of embezzling $9 million was apprehended in Russia and extradited to Uzbekistan on May 15. Additionally, Uzbekistan’s Interpol National Central Bureau successfully secured the deportation of a female fugitive from the UAE.
