Uzbekistan boosts fruit exports by 43%, reaching $368 million in six months
The volume of fruit exports increased by 43% compared to the same period in 2024, with cherries, sweet cherries, and apricots among the top contributors.

From January to June of this year, Uzbekistan exported 311,000 tons of fruits worth $368.6 million, according to Ugiloy Boltabayeva, press secretary of the Agency for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex.
This marks a 43% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when exports amounted to 216,700 tons valued at $260 million.
The breakdown of major fruit exports includes:
- Cherries and sweet cherries: $96.8 million (42,100 tons) – 11% of total fruit exports;
- Apples: $6.7 million (13,300 tons) – 3.6%;
- Plums: $10 million (14,600 tons) – 3.9%;
- Apricots: $41 million (54,100 tons) – 15%.
Currently, Uzbekistan operates 88 agro-logistics centers that handle fruit and vegetable products, with 54 of them actively in service.
This year, the country plans to launch 10 new agro-logistics centers, four of which have already begun operating in Surkhandarya, Navoi, Samarkand, and Fergana regions.
The Agency also proposed a series of initiatives, including:
- Scaling up small-scale fruit production and packaging projects in accordance with European standards across the regions;
- Reducing pre-export processing costs in logistics centers and partially subsidizing packaging expenses;
- Exploring the Chinese market, creating national fruit brands, and supporting participation of exporters and logistics hubs in international exhibitions;
- Expanding partnerships with developed countries to boost seedless grape exports.
