Double Olympic champion Ulugbek Rashitov suspended for two years
Two-time Olympic taekwondo champion Ulugbek Rashitov has been handed a two-year suspension for violating anti-doping rules by failing to report his whereabouts on three separate occasions — a breach considered a serious violation under international anti-doping regulations.

The International Testing Agency (ITA), acting on behalf of World Taekwondo, announced the decision, confirming that the 23-year-old athlete from Uzbekistan will be barred from competition for two years due to the infraction.
According to the agency’s statement, Rashitov failed to provide his whereabouts three times within a 12-month period. Such failures are classified as anti-doping rule violations because they hinder the process of conducting unannounced out-of-competition drug testing.
“The athlete did not challenge the ADRV and agreed with the consequences proposed by the ITA. Accordingly, the case was resolved via an acceptance of consequences,” the statement read.
The period of ineligibility officially began on May 13, 2025 — the date on which Rashitov voluntarily accepted provisional suspension — and will continue through May 12, 2027.
Additionally, all individual competitive results achieved by Rashitov from February 3, 2025 (the date of the third violation) to the start of his suspension will be annulled.
The decision may be appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), should any party request a review.
As a member of the Registered Testing Pool (RTP), Rashitov was required to report his daily location and designate a 60-minute window during which he could be available for unannounced drug testing. This protocol ensures anti-doping agencies can conduct effective out-of-competition testing without prior notice.
